Cross Road Tavern - Cat Spring

We walked in for lunch hoping for a good meal at 12:15 on a Saturday. The man sitting at the bar let us know they were closing at 1 and the best he could offer was a ham sandwich. Yes we were a group of 6, but Yelp's listing shows them open til 8 pm on Saturdays AND that they are a good place for groups. It was obvious we weren't welcome. Waste of time. I'm guessing if you're local you get more of a red carpet. We took the hint and went somewhere that wanted our money.

In 2004, we took a Saturday afternoon drive to the countryside and discovered this place by chance. We instantly fell in love with Cat Jump and decided to invest in property there in 2005.

The restaurant has a charming country atmosphere, and they serve generous portions, ensuring you won't leave hungry.

I wish they were open from 2 PM to 4 PM; 5 PM is a bit too late. The food is good, but I wish they had extra green beans since they ran out by 1:20 PM. It's a great place for kids!

I’m giving this place two stars only because of the friendly country folk who were there as patrons. Everything else about this place was 1 star. The food wasn’t warm when it arrived at our table and tasted like anything you could make at home out of a freezer bag. Also, it was unclear where we were supposed to order when we walked in, and the old leather troll that was supposed to be helping us was too busy with her own conversation to be bothered with taking orders.If I never come back here again, it won’t be soon enough.
