Da Quei Matti - Catania

A nice surprise near the harbor...We (cople+1) entered the place with a cautious optimism. The place had character empty, with a man who seems like he've seen everything life has to offer, and a sense of rough edge. We ordered spaghetti with sardines (sorry, I don't remember the names all the variations of the spaghetti noodles by heart), risotto with porchini mushrooms and penne with pistachio. The first two were delicious, as one would imagine, third one was ok, but I would skip it. Service was decent, place is clean (slight deep fry smell in the air), and we enjoyed our selves very much. I recommend this place.

Very unfriendly service, food okay, dirty plates and sticky saltshaker. No atmosphere. Better to stay away.

Great food at a very convenient price. Thanks to the Fork the restaurant 's owner granted us the 50% off the bill. He is a very nice and funny man ready to stop to talk to us about food and his business. the menu is pretty standard but all we ordered was tasty and delicious according to the strict Sicilian culinary tradition. l found the farfalle al salmone particularly tasty while the pasta with aubergine and tuna was absolutely an experience, but my favourite was the Antioasto: Octopus salad. That is obviously my personal opinion. Overall Da quei matti restaurant confirms to be a nice and cozy place where to eat authentic Sicilian (fresh) food at a reasonable price.
