La Reggia Dei Sapori - Catania

We arrived at the place at 15.30, they were almost closing when we arrived and we asked for food. They offered us some pasta to take away that was the only thing remaining. When we went to pay they said they were inviting us to the pasta because they wew sorry that we couldn't stay there to eat as they were closing, and they only allowed us to pay the water. After that extremely caring way of acting the food resulted to be delicious! What alese can you ask for? Great people and delicious food!

It cannot get more authentic than this. A small deli con trattoria. People ordering their take aways or the food to be brought to the table. Typical Sicilian working class food. Tasty beyond belief. The place full of locals and we are the only tourists. Antipasti the best we had the whole week. The sausages and the cannelloni exquisite. Simple cooking but to perfection. And everyone so wonderful and friendly. Chatting with us making us feel so welcome. When we had to pay it was another surprise. It was 17 Euro. But the waitress said...make it 16 as it is a number much more beautiful... 16 Euro for bread, water, antipasti and two piatti. When I wanted to leave a tip the waitress said no. It was her pleasure to have us. What else can I say....

Sono andato domenica per pranzo e volevo tornare lunedì prima di partire ma purtroppo è stato chiuso. pratico fatto in casa alla norma....voto e salsiccia condita....voto ora vedo tornare in catania per tornare perché hanno una finestra da sola per averlo scoperto prima.
