This charming little restaurant was just down the street from our hotel. After our first dinner, we went back for lunch a few days later, and then back again for dinner on our last night in Catania. All of the pastas are superb, especially the Pasta Norma and the Cacio e Pepe. The piece de resistance on the final evening was the daily special, sea bass baked in salt. The salt covered fish was brought to the table still aflame, where the waiter proceeded to crack open the salt dome, revealing a perfectly steamed whole fish underneath. Dinner and a floor show!
Alfio is a fantastic host! Wonderful service and beautiful food. Alfio recommended dishes and it was the perfect amount of food. Wine also amazing.
