La Dispensa - CECINA

The worst meal we had for a long time. We booked online as we were looking for a table on Ferragosta. We were placed outside on the pavement right next to the road with traffic going by. The bread that was served was tasteless. The menu is small which is not a problem in itself. My husband had the Angus filet with pepper sauce: the steak was tasteless and had never seen a grill or at least a pan. The pepper sauce was horrible, the fries potatoes were cold, the grilled vegetable inedible. My tagliatelle with Tartuffo was ok, but I’ve eaten better. Our daughters lasagne was ok, but not great. The best about the meal was the wine and the espresso. Service was fast at least we could get out quickly. Judging the faces of the people at the next table, their experience was similar to ours. I overheard the waitress speak to an Italian couple and offering what must have been the daily special which had not been offered to us (probably as they did not speak English the menu was Italian only as well which is not a problem as we translated them with google). We had a 20% discount with our booking (which was not the reason for booking) we felt like we got offered something different to the locals which seemed to have a good time inside the restaurant.

Lovingly furnished restaurant. We were accompanied through our three-course menu by a very friendly lady. Everything was perfect, from the sequence, the taste of each course and the service.

I stayed for 8 days in Marina di Cecina and always had dinner at the pantry! Excellent food cooked fresh with love and served with kindness!!!

We have booked this restaurant online, based on the reviews. when we arrived, we sat outside on the pavement with the traffic that went from us on the road. we ordered drinks and were served bread, which was quite tasteless. my man ordered the angus steak with pfeffersoße, my daughter lasagne and I ordered tagliatelle with tartuffo. my pasta and the lasagne of my daughter were okay, but we had better eaten. my man steak had not seen a grill or a pan, the sauce was disgusting. he ordered kartoffels and grilled vegetables on the side: the kartoffels were cold in the middle and the sweet was mush. when he was asked if everything is in order, he did not really say, but it was completely ignored by the waitress. wein and espresso were good, the service very fast at least we could get out quickly. we heard when locals arrived that they were offered foods that were not offered to us, like a daily special.
