Sharky's Grill - Cedar Island

The fish sandwich and fries were delicious, and the sweet tea refills were a nice touch. The staff was very friendly, making it a great spot for lunch.

The restaurant is now known as Bay Breeze, although the road signs still say Sharky's as you exit the ferry. The door and signs on the building clearly indicate it is Bay Breeze. The food was quite good considering it's a small place located in the middle of nowhere. I tried the shrimp po boy and it was delicious. The shrimp were perfectly battered and fried, and the sauce was flavorful.

Over the weekend, we decided to make the drive from Morehead City to try out this restaurant and see what all the hype was about. Unfortunately, our experience was not great, but we did have a friendly waitress. Upon entering the restaurant, we were met with blank stares and an awkward silence. We knew right away that this would be an interesting experience, and it certainly was. We were seated and waited for the waitress to come to our table, which took about 5 minutes even though the restaurant was not busy. We placed our order and watched as others who came in after us received their food before we did. Our meals finally arrived after a 10-15 minute wait. The waitress was apologetic and our food was okay. We ordered the Shrimp Po boy sub and seafood basket, but have enjoyed better food in nearby areas such as Morehead City, Atlantic Beach, and Beaufort. It seems that this restaurant caters more to locals from Cedar Island and may not be as welcoming to out-of-town visitors. Overall, we felt uncomfortable during our visit and believe the restaurant could benefit from a more visitor-friendly approach. We recommend seeking out better seafood options in Atlantic Beach or Morehead City.

We enjoyed a delicious shrimp po'boy, fresh chips, and a fried fish sandwich at this restaurant located within walking distance of the beach where we are staying. It's a great spot for good food.

The service here is excellent and it's a unique spot to relax while you wait. The food is just average.
