MEAL: LunchORDER TYPE: Dine InFIRST LOCATION: 1994 Jacksonville, FLMY ORDER EXPERIENCEI have seen Firehouse Subs at various places but never got a chance to try it out and as this was right next to my haircut place, I tried it. It is not often to see themed restaurants in the US, but the Firehouse Subs restaurant is like a Fire Station tour to me. Most of the ambience was dominated by the red color. The decor was the fire equipment and had a big wallpaper with Firemen and the Fire truck. The place was sufficient, clean, and comfortable. One must order their food at the counter and when it is ready, they bring it to your table. As this was my first time and just like any other Sub place, they had limited vegetarian options. I only ordered Cold Veggie Sub (L) where they gave me a 10% discount for the first time experience. My Veggie Sub just arrived on time just like how the Fire Trucks approached the scene except that there were no sirens haha. I ordered a Wheat based bread (11 to 12 inch) which had caramelized green bell peppers, onions, savory mushrooms, provolone, cheddar, Monterey Jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, deli mustard and Italian dressing, with a pickle spear on the side. The Veggie Sub was cut into two equal halves. The presentation was alright, but the taste was good and different from the other places. I enjoyed my food while eating because at one point I felt like a Fireman sitting at the Fire station cafe during his lunch time. To sum up, the experience went better than I expected. The customer staff was good. I was able to park right in front of the restaurant but usually the spot is always taken. The prices were reasonable. It was interesting to read on the back side of the water cup that they help Hometown Heroes (First responders and public safety organizations with lifesaving tools, resources, and support) through The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundations.
Kind staff, always super quick to get my order. Usually go here on my break, so I don’t tend to have a lot of time. I come here so often some of the staff even remember my name, haha.
They don’t follow instructions or toast your bread and will leave your food out. Plus two of them were only wearing one glove.
My sister picked up my order and I didn't get something I paid for and came back two days later with my receipt, I was told that there was nothing they could do because I didn't call about it before hand and that two days is a long time so they couldn't give me a refund, at any other food place this would have been more than enough to get the item or at least a refund but not here. I'm seeing other reviews of this place of people who did call and still couldn't get their problem resolved so good luck if they mess up on anything.
