I can't believe that they have Filipino PANCIT on the menu in this small town! Very creative and daring of the chef here in Cedar, Michigan! This is a rice noodle dish for those folks that are gluten-free. This dish was good. Just a note: pizza is take-out only. Greek pizza was yummy. Went back for breakfast. I ordered a single slice of the french toast, which was OK, I would prefer a nice chunky slab of french toast. My husband ordered the Lumberjack breakfast $7.50 and he said that it was an excellent value for the price. He enjoyed two nice size pieces of ham, two sausage links the best, really good , home fries very, very good and yummy and the eggs were average. 2.5 stars for the french toast, hubby gives the Lumberjack a 3.5 star; so breakfast gets a 3 star
After looking at their menu online because of tidbit in the paper, we decided to drive out and give it a try. The four of us each had a different entrees, non of us truly enjoyed them, the taste would have had to do some overwhelming to make up for the presentation service. I have never been to a restaurant and asked for something on the side and be told no, let alone twice in the same sitting. If I'm going to pay manitou or coho prices, I would like to get manitou or coho quality food, my wife asked me to promise never to take her there again. The tastiest thing was the Mediterranean Cheesy Bread but had the visual appeal of a gas station personal pizza. The ribs tasted just like a store bought bottle kc masterpiece sauce We had two different desserts, both with flavors so puzzling we just let them be The best thing on my own plate was the vegetable medley In the end I feel bad writing this but it seemed like the waitress would have rather us not come in, and we left wondering why we just dropped $120 and drove 45 minutes to check this place out, we truly wish this would have been a better experience, it's hard to find good food west of Traverse open in the winter that isn't the Roadhouse or Fusion.
The most important factor of any dining experience, the food, is really solid at the Cedar Rustic Inn. Our service was just OK. When we arrived around 8:30 on a Saturday night, they let us know that they 'd closed the patio because there were storms over Lake Michigan. It seemed to be an excuse not to have to walk all the way to the back of the restaurant, because the skies never darkened and no raindrops fell all night. And our waitress seemed to run away from us as soon as she possibly could. But their coconut crusted walleye is truly delicious. Grouper was pretty tasty; same with the chicken marsala. The stir fry was totally tasteless, so I 'd steer clear of their Asian preparations. Rice and veggies aren 't particularly interesting, but they 're cooked properly and taste just fine. No pretense or posturing to be seen. For the price, I 'll be sure to enjoy the Rustic Inn again.
The best bowl of soup in recent memory, dinner was good all around, very well prepared. Service A+ too.
Friend took her elderly mother and sister there for Mom 's birthday. They accused the elderly woman of scratching there wood floor with her walker. Then proceeded to tell my friend and her sister that they should walk the mom out because her walker was scratching their floor. When my friend 's sister said she would tell any handicapped people to not go there, the response was please do . What horrible treatment of an elder woman and her daughters! No excuse for this.
