First of all, I ordered to go, picked it up quickly and only live about a quarter mile away?the baked clams (had grit of some sort in them that seemed to be shell chips) and lasagne were not even warm when I got home. They must?ve heated them for about two minutes. Secondly, the lasagne was just?strange and bland, it?s hard to describe. It was several layers of lasagne noodles, NOTHING in between the layers. Four or five layers together, just one, big thick pasta hunk and it was acting like a ring around the outside, the noodles were laying on their side like a dam, not flat like every other lasagne I?ve ever had. In the void in the middle was some ground beef, just naked, no ricotta or mozzarella with the beef. No sauce yet?on top was the mozzarella. No ricotta to be found. Sauce was poured on top and around the outside. Ate about a third of it and tossed the rest. If this was some sort of a trendy house specialty, it was terrible, I don?t know how anyone could possible appreciate that mess. Never going back there.
We had our reception there and it was great! We loved the food and our guests loved the food. We also catered from them few times my husband and I still eat there. The owners are great people very patient and friendly. Love La Volpe ??
I hesitate to share this, but I had the best calamari—fresh and delicious—accompanied by zucchini. The servers were some of the friendliest we've encountered in a while, and the owner checked in at our table three times. A tip: make sure to wear a shirt with sleeves! We'll definitely be returning.
This place is a true treasure! The ambiance is simply captivating, making it feel like home—only better. The staff is consistently attentive and friendly. As for the food, I can't quite find the words to do it justice; just know that anything you order will be outstanding. I recently tried their Italian cheesecake, and it was like indulging in the most incredible cloud you've ever tasted. Plus, it's a family-run business, and once you visit more than once, you feel like part of the family.
The service was excellent, and the fig and goat cheese appetizer was outstanding. While I wasn't a fan of the chicken Dijon dish, the eggplant parmesan was fresh and delicious. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for an authentic Italian meal with a modern twist. Just keep in mind that there is a dress code and prices are on the higher side.
