Wow, delicious! I've never tasted food this good. We tried the chicken with chili sauce (I'm not sure of the exact name), pan-roasted dumplings, and lamb with cumin. I can't wait to go back! The service was friendly and fast, too.
I recently tried a new restaurant, Spice Workshop, for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and unique offerings in the area. Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect, and I found many dishes to be quite spicy! However, there are definitely options for those who prefer milder flavors. The restaurant is located on Central Road, with limited parking available in front of the shopping center. Inside, the space is fairly spacious. Prices are reasonable, but some might find the portion sizes a bit small, leading to the perception that the place is on the pricier side. A few of the dishes include white rice, which is a nice touch. Personally, I didn't mind the pricing too much. The service was friendly, though there was a noticeable language barrier. That said, my order was completely accurate, and I was very pleased with it. I appreciated the convenience of being able to order online and pay in cash upon arrival. The food was truly tasty! Even if you're not a fan of spicy food, you should still be able to find something to enjoy. I really appreciated the unique menu options; it’s not often to find such a diverse selection of dishes on Long Island. Here’s a breakdown of what I tried: - **Steamed Spare Ribs in Rice Flour:** This was quite disappointing. The ribs had an unusual texture and lacked flavor. I would rate this 0 out of 5 stars. - **Beef Tripe Tongue in Hot Pepper Sauce:** This was a bit spicy, but nothing overwhelming. I enjoyed the flavors of both the tripe and the tongue, but the dish didn’t blow me away. I’d give it 3.5 out of 5 stars. - **Picky Duck Tongue:** I’m always up for trying new things, and duck tongue was on my radar. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan. The texture was tough, and it was filled with bones, making it difficult to eat. I’d rate this a 0 out of 5 stars. - **Kung Fu Fatty Beef:** This was definitely my favorite dish of the night! The beef was incredibly flavorful and almost melted in my mouth. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars. - **Spicy Chicken Wings:** These wings lived up to their name — they were definitely spicy, especially towards the bottom of the container. They were crispy and beautifully cooked, but a bit on the salty side. Still, I’d happily order them again, rating them 4 out of 5 stars. - **Steamed Dumplings:** These were a must-try — absolutely delicious! I’d rate them 5 out of 5 stars. - **Dumplings in Chili Oil:** These were good, but I preferred the steamed dumplings. I’d give them 4 out of 5 stars. - **Thinly Sliced Pork with Garlic Chili Sauce:** The texture was a bit odd and very tender, but the garlic flavor was fantastic. I’d rate this dish 4.5 out of 5 stars. - **Hunan Stir Fried Beef:** If you love spice like I do, you’ll enjoy this dish! It was incredibly flavorful, and the meat was cooked perfectly. I’d give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars. Overall, I’m glad to have discovered a new restaurant and to support a local business. The variety of food is definitely different and might take some getting used to, but the flavors were spot on!
The food was incredibly delicious, and the staff was very friendly! The interior of the restaurant was pleasant, the dishes arrived fairly quickly, and the prices were reasonable. I particularly enjoyed the Szechuan-style dishes, especially the Mapo tofu, which is my favorite.
What a wonderful find! You won't regret it trying this place out. Quickly became one of my favorite restaurants on Long Island. A traditional Chinese-Schezuan menu with American Chinese varieties as well. A perfect place to find those dishes that you didn't know were your favorites until you try something new! The kind, brave staff enhance the experience with knowledge of the menu and challenge the diner to try something new. Trust them. You won't regret it!
