I tried the olive fried rice and black bean sauce fish with rice. Both dishes were aromatic, not greasy, and served in generous portions. The dinner menu had a wide variety of options to choose from. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.
This restaurant is well-known for its mock bak kut teh, but also offers rice with a variety of mock toppings. During my visit, I decided to try a bit of everything they had to offer - mock bakuteh, flavored rice with over ten different toppings. The portion was generous enough to feed two people, and the total cost was only $9, making it a very affordable option. I particularly enjoyed their specialty rice, seasoned with anise and cassia spices, as well as vegetable and sesame oil. It had a delightful aroma and a subtle, pleasant flavor. The mock meats were also flavorful and paired well with the rice. The mock fish ball was a standout for me, with a satisfying chewiness that made it a fun dish to eat. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it tasted even better than real fish! The mock bak kut teh was a healthy, vegan alternative to the traditional dish, with a broth that resembled herbal Chinese soup. The mock meat had a firm texture that set it apart from other mushy mock meats I've tried. Additionally, the stall offered three different chili sauces with unique flavors for those who prefer a spicier kick. While I would suggest adding more variety to their menu, such as tofu dishes, I was overall very pleased with my experience at this restaurant.
For choice to choose too much food, ordered their KFC chicken rice, the rice itself is very fragrant, the huh (can oyster mushroom) is well roasted, the akar, chili and picked vegetables also taste good, recommended.
