Additionally, the Satay sauce was extremely cold with visible ice crystals. When I highlighted these issues to the staff, they told me that this was how it should be. Unfortunately, the staff became cold towards me after I pointed out the substandard quality of the food.
Xing Hua used to be a simple pick and choose place. It has modernized it's interior for some time now, but I have just been back. Still great food. Mostly processed tofu or soy meat dishes, Chinese style. They still offer Mee Rebus if you ask for it but prices have gone up. The fancy' dishes like Satay are more expensive. Still very good though. They have been in business for 20 years!
I absolutely love the vegetarian oyster cake at this restaurant. It's crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, and has a delicious umami flavor. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey at $1.80.
The fried enoki mushrooms are incredibly crispy and delicious, especially when paired with chili sauce. The carrot cake and early roll are also beautifully presented. Just be prepared to burn off some calories after indulging in these dishes.
I had the Yam Ring. 16SGD. It was fine. Prices are not too cheap. Owner speaks some English and she use it for up sales... They have another store at Fortune Centre with the same exact menu. It is also listed here.
