Everything we ordered tasted super fresh and made with a lot of love and passion. The quality ingredients are treated with respect, and the cooking techniques involve both the age old traditional Inca style as well as the high BTU range providing a slight smokiness, aka wok hei a product of the Southern Chinese influence in Peruvian cuisine (known as Chifa style). Oh those aromas are to die for! Their tiraditos, lomo saltado, tacu tacu especial, chaufa, and papa rellena tickled our taste buds with a huge array of flavors and textures, way beyond what 's common in any single meal. Although I really got the impression that everything on their menu is scrumptiously delicious! Also, be sure to try one of their amazing craft cocktails as well as their housemate chicha morada! If you 're already familiar with Peruvian food, then you definitely have to try this place, and if you 're not, I 'm telling my friend, you 're missing out big time! Highly recommend!
This is a redo of experiencing dining at El Rocoto. About two years ago I had the worst encounter there, a waitress chased me and my wife out and demanded a tip that she didn’t see underneath the plates. I called the managers at all locations and no one did anything. Recently. I decided why not! Fortunately the waitress isn’t there( that I’ve seen) and the location looks even prettier than before. The food is amazing if not better. I just tried their seafood saltado and when I tell you OH MY WORD. It’s delicious! The calamari combined with clams and shrimp is so savory. The fries here aren’t drenched in oil. The rice isn’t mushy. You get what you expect. High quality food! To start they give you bread, I do think they can work on giving you a better setup for bread and butter. But other than that it’s very good and the staff is adequate.
This Peruvian family-owned restaurant is truly wonderful. The halibut ceviche is divine, as well as the fried rice dish.
In my previous comment on 1/28/23, I mentioned that the food at the restaurant was the worst I had ever experienced. The prices were high and the food did not taste authentic Peruvian. The Yucca Frita was undercooked and lacked flavor, while the Lomo Saltado was drenched in soy sauce and lacked seasoning. Despite the friendly and attentive staff, my family and I were disappointed with our $155 bill. Overall, the service was great but the food left much to be desired.
Food was good, portions were big! Most of the plates you can share. My only gripe is that I made a reservation with Google assist and it couldn't get a hold of anyone... so I called and easily got a reservation at 8pm on a Thursday only to find out they close at 8:30pm. I felt bad showing up 30mins before they closed, so we ate quick and tried to leave quick. If I knew I would have made the reservation at 7pm instead. I ordered the arroz con pollo, delicious!
