Offers a small selection of traditional savoyard food, various croutes, some tartiflette tipe meals and a delicious blueberry tart with succulent and super tasty blueberries. We assumed...they came straight from the forest (offering might depend on season). Service was friendly too. Hike is fairly easy, mainly through the forest. I think it took us and we are not the fastest ! Walk a bit higher up from the restaurant and you will be rewarded with the best view to the mer des glaces' Watchout : Reservation recommended and they don't take credit cards !
Excellent endroit pour se faire une pause and fill up on simple yet tasty mountain fare. We had croutes and salad just what was needed after the walk up. Lots of space to spread out, large tables, place to attach the dog's lead, continuous...stream of pure drinking water, swift and efficient service.
If you want a true French eating experience in one of the most beautiful settings ever, then there is only one place to eat in Chamonix and this is it. The food was spectacular (we asked the owner to serve what he thought best), the...views were incredible and the owner was brilliant. It was spur of the moment and one of the best eating experiences we have ever had. Highly recommended! Well worth the short (but steep) walk. Make sure to order the crepes for dessert
This buvette/refuge is a minute walk above Le Lavancher and overlooks the Mer de Glace. The food is traditional french mountain food and there is cold draft beer which can be rare on the mountain. It is less frequented than Buvette Floria on the...other side of the valley. The service is very good. I'm told there is a bed dormitory if you want to stay the night. The view is spectacular looking down the valley all the way to Les Houches. It is a relatively easy walk up but steep in a few places. The path is in good condition and well sign posted. It is only open in Summer and best to book.
Incredible! After a nice, steep hike we were able to indulge in a bowl of ice cream or a crisp beer depending on our desires. The owner was very friendly. What a breathtaking spot!
