A property by The Park Hotel in Sreerampur, the hotel is quaint with rooms and a riverside view for you to enjoy. The hotel has a restaurant which serves Bengali food and liquor as well. The service was fast and prompt with the servers and the guards being very helpful and head warming to talk to . The only chink in the armour would be the prices which are a bit on the higher side for the area and there are not a lot of vegetarian options.
At the 1786 built Denmark Tavern, Serampore. Danish speciality- Baked vegetables in cream sauce and baked with cheese It was built and managed by British Inn keeper James Parr in this Danish settlement. In late 1880s with Calcutta becoming major trading hub for the English and the Danes finally selling it off the British in 1839. In 2014 restoration of the property started and it finally opened its doors for public in 2018. It is now managed as a boutique hotel by The Park
One of the most popular places to eat in Serampore, this place possesses a rich history. However the food wasn’t the best. It was good enough of course. I’ve had a creamy chicken and mushroom on toast. The toast was crunchy and the creamy chicken and mushroom had a thick consistency. However, the chicken pieces were too big. I’m not saying it was bad however, according to the dish, the size wasn’t suiting at all. The overall taste was good though.
Food was great, service was good. Ambience is superb and unique, a visit is worth it. Food however is very costly. The menu too is very small , not an ideal place to explore various cuisines.
