We ordered the Fried Snapper, pigtails with coconut rice and fried beans, fried chicken and the oxtail stew, which all came with coconut rice and beans, fried plantains and potato salad. The coconut water and the watermelon juice must have. The food took a long time to be served, but waiting was worth it. After all, we're Belizean nice like our food.
They dreamed of Belizean food since we had side the street BBQ in Belize to Xunantunich. We found Elviras and loved this place! Went while they had the BBQ, so we tried the BBQ chicken and stewed chicken. Both were fantastic! We had the salbutes as an appetizer, and we are definitely tied. It was all with a coconut water and a watermelon drink. Everything was delicious, will definitely be back! Love the true Belizean taste.
The food was wonderful. my husband I enjoyed both the appetizers that the owner suggested..and could not have enough of each of our entrées. Their customer service was on point.definately glad that we happened on this jewel. Ordered and brought home some of their homemade strawberry cheese cakes... thoroughly recommend this remnant to anyone who wants to try something else and with a homemade flavor and comfort in every bite.
We drove past the last few months and said we should go and it was a post by #livingchandler who reviewed and recommended Elvira that made us the trouble and go. We were not disappointed. The owner Luis and his wife Elvira so wonderful and sweet. Very friendly. He helped us with the menu and made some suggestions. Hubby had the oxen swarm and I went for the red snapper. Food lasted a while longer than expected because this is NOT fast food. This is real Belizean. Two lb fish. Largest available flew in fresh from Florida. The coconut rum drink from Pop was delish!
Great food! We had never had Belizean food before!. We had driven by this place a lot and always said, we should go. So we visited tonight to celebrate my husband's birthday. The habanero hot sauce was to die for! ; I had the stewed pork chop and my husband had the beef stew. Wonderful flavors and great portions! We will definitely be back! The service was simply awesome too! Very nice people!
