Waitress was too busy talking to guy at table behind us and Acting as if us being there was a bother to her terrible service But the lady that made the guac was super nice what would cost us $40 when we left was over 70.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Me and my family came to eat here and placed an order to-go. After waiting over 40 mins they “misplaced the order” and gaslit me into thinking I placed my order at a different Don Pedro 's. After escalating the matter multiple times. The manager never came out to apologize or do anything for the inconvenience. I see why it 's empty during happy hour. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. My husband and I decided to eat a late dinner (7/30/24) at Don Pedro 's University. Upon entering they looked nominally busy but not overwhelmed. We were seated immediately and our server was Mari. She is the only reason I am giving this review 2 stars. My husband and I both ordered the Mexican Salad. His with Grilled Salmon and mine with Grilled Shrimp. Menu description: Romaine lettuce, Tomato, Avocado, Mexican Style Cheese, Choice of dressing and choice of Grilled Protein. My salad was a small handful of chopped lettuce, 3 (1/2) slices of tomato, 2 slices of Avocado, maybe a teaspoon to a tablespoonful of Mexican Cheese crumbles, and approx. 12 or 15 small sized shrimp. We both added on raw red onion slices (upcharge $1.00 not a problem). My husbands salad was the same except he had a rather medium to large sized piece of Grilled Salmon. As you see in my photo, my salad was $18.95 and his was $17.95. Now, this review is NOT a complaint about the amount of proteins on the salad. My entire complaint is the amount of veggies that are given with the protein of your choice. As soon as the salads arrived, I asked my server, where is the rest of it? Obviously, she did not understand what I meant, since this is the normal portion, that she would be used to serving. I explained that the the amount of veggies in THIS salad, in my opinion, would be what is served as a side salad which accompanies an entre. The salads that we ordered are considered to be the actual entire entre. I asked her if she thought this was a salad worth $20.00 and she just turned her head to the side and gave a look of dissatisfaction. I asked her if I could get more lettuce and if I could speak to the manager. When the manager (forgot his name) came out, he immediately said, I am not going to charge you for the extra lettuce . My 1st encounter with him gave me the impression he was feeling guilty about what his kitchen staff had sent out to a customer. I explained that I did not have an issue paying extra for anything if that is what I want, but in this case, the error laid in the ratio of veggies to protein on a salad that is sold as an entre. When I told him that the salad that I was served was not worth the price. He explained that he had no control that the owner has set the price and the quantity of ingredients. He then proceeded to explain that 1 of these small sized shrimps cost $1.75 each if requested as an extra. Again, I had no complaints on the amount of shrimp that I received nor the size of Salmon my husband had on his salad. Afterwards, I told him point blank, Well, the owner is robbing his/her customers . To my surprise, he agreed. I am not sure he meant to agree or that he was caught off guard, but the fact that he agreed with my statement was very disturbing, especially coming from the manger. I know there are some that will read my review and will think it is petty for me to be upset about the amount of veggies given with my salad, but my entire salad was supposed to be my dinner. This was not a salad that would accompany a plate of food. So. Yes, paying $18.95 (mine) and $17.95 (husbands) for a salad, I do expect to get some what full from it. Again, this review only received 3 stars not due to Mari nor her efforts to serve my husband and I to the best of her abilities but, to her handicapped ability to serve based solely on the lack of quantity of the dish being served from the kitchen staff. Which is under the direction of management for the restaurant. 1st visit and unfortunately this will be our last visit.
Always a great experience when me and the guys from work eat here. They have some bomb quesabirrias and there aguas Fresca are good af. Have only been there once out of work and even then it was a good time. Definitely recommend eating here.
Be carful buying a margarita here. Very expensive, 45$ for a pitcher full of ice and zero alcohol
