Carolina Ale House - Charleston

Great food, great atmosphere, and an excellent location! We were searching for restaurants with outdoor seating and chose this spot. Despite being short-staffed due to the coronavirus situation, our meals and drinks were served promptly, and everything was delicious. We would definitely return for another visit!

The restaurant boasts a great location and is very clean, which are the first two things that stand out. I arrived at 10:15 a.m. hoping to enjoy an evening meal outdoors on a cool autumn night, but the terrace was closed. Instead, we chose to sit at a booth and relax. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak while my friend opted for the Parmesan wings. The service was quick, and our server was very attentive to our needs. When our food arrived, it was hot and tasted incredibly fresh. We didn’t even need to ask for drink refills; our server was always one step ahead of us. At the time of our visit, there were some young college students enjoying themselves, being loud, and watching sports. It’s a lively atmosphere, and I recommend everyone try it at least once. The restaurant is located on Calhoun Road and offers a beautiful view of the city of Charleston.

The location and view are fantastic. The food was very enjoyable. The service could use some improvement, but it was satisfactory overall. It was my first visit, and I would definitely return.

They had not many vegetarian options, but they were very accommodating! I had a kicked pickel po boy. it was great!

Superb 3rd floor location offers a splendid vantage for sunset views of Marion Square. Sports bar fare at very reasonable prices.
