Circa 1886 Events - Charleston

Me and my beau tried out this lovely establishment during July. The ambiance was on point but I was quite disappointed with the very limited menu. Typically I would rate a restaurant with such a sparse menu lower, yet the fish I didn't want but tried anyway, was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection and the service was stellar. The bartender was top notch too! I would just advise: not the best place for picky eaters who aren't too adventurous.

I was there for a private event, but the food and service was excellent. I want to come back to celebrate for a special occasion!

This is a wonderful little spot in Charleston. The ambiance is sophisticated yet intimate. The food and it's presentation are top notch. The chef has a creative mind and the dishes are a revelation! I'd highly recommend selecting one of the multiple course offerings (Ashley or Cooper). Each provides a different taste and texture experience. The portions are the perfect size and timing between courses is perfect. If you stay at the Wentworth, complimentary breakfast is included at Circa and it is phenomenal! I'll definitely return when in Charleston again!

Update July 2024 Had dinner here a second time celebrating our 51 st wedding anniversary. Once again truly a 5 star dining experience. We both had the tasting menu coupled with wine pairings. Each course expertly prepared and presented. Impeccable service all around. Shout out to Elle and a fabulous sommelier John who made the evening special . This will be our go to celebratory restaurant. First Review January 2024 Charleston has many high end dining options. Circa 1886 does not take 2 nd place to any of them. My wife and I originally from NY now living in Charleston enjoy high end dining. We decided to dine at Circa 1886 to celebrate her birthday. If you enjoy dining in a 200 year old building, with wonderful ambiance. Excellent service and off the charts creative food, then this is the place for you. This is not just dinner it’s a dining experience. We will be back .
