The rooms are luxurious, albeit a bit small. The location is fantastic. The breakfast servers in the restaurant were top-notch. Additionally, the pastry shop in the hotel offers some of the best pastries we've ever tasted. I will definitely be coming back.
My husband surprised my son and me with a trip to Hotel Bennett for our birthdays. It was the most incredible service and accommodations we have ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and escorted to our beautiful suite. The rooms were lovely, clean, and comfortable. The pool, spa, Kings Club, and on-site restaurants were all exceptional and staffed with caring employees. What truly made our stay exceptional was the outstanding service we received at the Kings Club. Alanna greeted us immediately and had drinks in our hands in no time. She was incredibly helpful and thoughtful throughout our visit, ensuring my husband had perfectly cooked eggs for breakfast, delivering my lunch to the pool, and recommending a fantastic sparkling rose for us to enjoy by the pool. Alanna even managed to secure a reservation for Hall’s Chop House at 6:30pm on a Saturday night, which I had been unable to do on my own. Our meal at Gabrielle was outstanding, with delicious cocktails and a plate of macarons sent to our table for our birthdays. The food at Kings Club was superb, with numerous breakfast options, a delicious lunch of salmon, green beans, potatoes, and salad, and delectable evening appetizers like coconut shrimp, shrimp cocktail, Brie wrapped in phyllo, and spring rolls. We also indulged in a poolside cabana stocked with a refrigerator full of sodas and bottled water, as well as excellent poolside food and beverage service. The staff made sure all of our needs were met, and we never wanted for anything. The spa was incredibly inviting and relaxing, and I had the best massage of my life there. We could not have asked for a better stay - we were treated like royalty! We will definitely be returning in the future.
My husband and I have decided not to return to Hotel Bennett. The hotel grounds were lovely, the rooms were clean, and the staff was friendly. However, we were left feeling disappointed as the hotel was unable to recover my valuable items that I accidentally left behind, leaving a negative impression on us. During check-out, I realized I had left my Tiffany's diamond necklace on the bedside table and two new yoga pants in the hotel room drawer. Despite contacting the lost and found department and the security team's efforts, my belongings were not found. I reached out to Scott Macdonald, the Lost and Found manager, but have yet to receive a response after a week. We spent a significant amount on our stay, but losing thousands in personal property has made us feel undervalued as guests and upset with our experience. While I understand that hotels are not liable for lost items, I no longer trust that my belongings are safe at this hotel and cannot recommend Hotel Bennett to others. I hope this review serves as a caution and prompts the hotel to improve their housekeeping staff.
From the moment we walked through the magnificent doors of Hotel Bennett and until we exited through those same doors that final morning of our stay, our time here was truly magical and special. Everyone was always pleasant and greeted you with a smile. The service was impeccable. We had the pleasure of working with Kevin McQuade, the most amazing concierge, to plan our trip. Kevin took the time to speak to me several months before our stay and planned a very personalized visit for us. My son loves nature, so the eco-tours and visit to Francis Beidler Forest, were wonderfully spiritual. If you are planning a trip to Charleston, look no further than Hotel Bennett and let Kevin help you unlock the secrets of Charleston that will make you visit as special as mine.
Hotel Bennett is in a great location on King Street opposite a small park, so you get the benefit of proximity to many of the local amenities coupled with tranquillity. The rooms are very nice and very clean. Service at the hotel was exemplary with all staff very friendly and efficient. Special shout out to Joseph, the concierge who managed to get us a reservation at Halls at a sensible time when all other attempts had failed! We'd happily stay here again.
