Peninsula Grill - Charleston

Insanely good. Best ribeye ever. Bear scallops. Just impeccable. But too cold (air conditioning! You must get the coconut cake too!

Chronically short staffed, so service was exceptionally slow. Food was great, and our server (Rick) did the best he could. The room is VERY noisy. Bathrooms are beautiful!

Food was pretty good, portions were small. The service was terrible, our waiter never came to check in on us. He was rude and clearly wanted us to leave. At the end of the night, they took our plates off the table immediately and didnt ask if we wanted to take anything home (we did). Although the seating area is really pretty, I wouldnt come back due to the awful service and rude staff.

Great food. Excellent service. Can't wait for our next trip to Charleston so we can dine here again.

I had stopped by Benne's after an event for a slice of their famous coconut cake. Patrons near me started talking about She Crab Soup. Suddenly, I had a craving. I was hesitant because I was a solo diner, did not want to sit at the bar and only desired a bowl of soup. I swallowed my pride and stepped next door. The hostess and the server could not have been more gracious in serving me. I can't wait to go back for a full dinner. A Next Door posting asked about solo diners who wished to dress up and go out for dinner. I highly recommend Peninsula Grill Benne's, the Peninsula Grill Bar and the restaurant. Ironically, a delightful couple seated next to me heard me talk about the coconut cake at Benne's. They headed over for a slice.
