R Kitchen West - Charleston

Dining at R Kitchen is unlike any other experience I've had. The atmosphere is very casual, with seating at the bar where you can chat with fellow diners and the chefs who are preparing and plating your dishes right before your eyes. The chefs share insights about the dishes they serve, including their inspirations. A fun part of the experience is guessing the evening's menu, as they post clues on a board in the restaurant. You never know which chef will be cooking that night, as they rotate. We've visited at least eight times in the past year, and ALL the chefs are fantastic! The owner, Ross, is a warm, generous, and entertaining individual, and he’s also an incredible chef! Chris, Justin, and Alex are just a few of the other talented chefs whose culinary creations we've enjoyed. And I can’t forget to mention how wonderful Lindsay is! They are very accommodating for those with dietary restrictions—just let them know when you make your reservation, and the chefs will check in with you upon your arrival. It's always impressive to see how they quickly craft alternative dishes on the fly. I absolutely LOVE this place! It's by far our favorite restaurant in foodie town Charleston, and we will keep coming back!

The menu changes everyday, so it is possible to have something you don’t care for, the experience that has been put together will outweigh any of that. We have loved everything we have experienced at the R Kitchen.

Great food and experience!!!Dietary restrictions: Reservations asked about dietary restrictions. I took my aunt and uncle there- no dietary restrictions, but she likes all her meat well done, which i didn't know and asked for her Peach cobbler with Chantilly cream to be served hot- no problem! I'm sure they can cater to vegetarians given proper notification.

Now, here's the exciting part: you’ll be treated to a 4 or 5-course meal that is specially crafted for that day. In our case, we enjoyed a soup, a salad, a pork dish, a beef dish, and an incredible dessert. The variety of flavors is truly the highlight. I ended up trying dishes I usually don’t enjoy, but the way they were prepared was simply extraordinary—an experience unlike any other. The best way to describe this restaurant is that you really need to experience it for yourself. Each visit is different, and everyone will find something unique about their evening. The experience is astounding, especially considering the price—or should I say, the value: a 5-course dinner, including wine, for just $65 per person. Honestly, they could and should charge more for this quality. So make sure to visit before they realize just how exceptional they really are!
