Republic Garden And Lounge - Charleston

I was thinking of coming there when I come to visit Charleston this weekend, but I think I 'll pass...Based on the reviews of this place it doesn 't sound very inclusive. Clearly the dress code is meant to exclude certain Types , but is enforced selectively.

There were SEVERAL roaches in the seating area by the bar. The drinks were weak and over priced. They closed abruptly and rudely at 1133pm. They gave us no warning and gave us about 5 minutes to get out. They said there wasn't much volume and decided to close early. The DJ was great, but it was unfortunate since we were celebrating the bride to be.

My friends and I planned a girls trip and a must stop spot was Republic. We are huge fans of Southern Hospitality and wanted to check out this spot. The drink menu had a great variety to choose from. The atmosphere and set up of the outside bar area was vibrant and had great music. TJ was our bartender. He was nice and super personable. He made some really good drinks! We enjoyed our time and will be back again!

The food and service were great. TJ was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better!

Came here twice. Tj was our bartender the second time and he is so amazing in person! And not to mention he make the best Paloma's! Made my Charleston dream come to reality!
