Smallcakes Ballantyne - Charlotte

Usually go to the university city location but was on this side of town so decided to visit here for the 1st time. This location looks very crowded on the inside and not as clean to me. Also the cupcake I purchased which was chocolate crème I believe was very hard at the top to the point I had to cut it off and the icing was stale tasting and had that sticky feeling as if it wasn’t fresh. Also noticed the icing on top of about half the amount as the other location I usually visit. Never had this problem with the university location as their cupcakes are ALWAYS fresh and the employees are much nicer- not that the employee was mean but she didn’t really have a personality to her… just bleh.

Cupcakes was super fresh very much appreciated! Just wish the mini Cupcakes would have came in a cute box or with a cute ribbon tied around them to advertise the company. I took these into a business.

This is hands down my FAVORITE bakery...but I had to retrack 2 stars. I understand it was close to closing time. But still no reason for this. I go in after a rough day...Needed a lil sweetness to pick me up and decidedly on my fav a smashcake. Chocolate cake with pink frosting. I asked for pumpkin cheese cake and biscott cookie icecream. I got one scoop of ice cream of the cookie. I looked and noticed right away, A: It was only 1 flavor of ice cream and it was ONLY ONE SCOOP. I asked her... Thats 2 scoops? The lady replied, Yes . I didn 't feel like arguing. I just wanted to go home. I paid the 13$ for 1 scoop of icecream and a cupcake.? I was going to go back the next day and hopefully speak with the owner but never got a chance too. Because this was a couple days ago, I figured nothing would be done about it. Instead, sadly, I decieded I just leave a review. Thanks for reading. Hopefully this won 't happen again. I love your cupcakes and icecream. Take care.Update!: The owner took care of my last order.
