Bill Curtis (owner) has a cellar beyond compare. Diners can grab a bottle from the wine shop, or ask Bill to dredge up a cellar treasure. The cuisine is also far more refined than the decor would suggest. We has pasta with escargots, mushrooms in puff pastry, and a lovely apple tart all paired with phenomenal Burgundies. Just let Bill make his recommendations!
A hidden gem in Charlottesville, with one of the best wine lists in the mid-Atlantic region (the restaurant doubles as a wine shop). The wines are priced at wine shop rather than restaurant rates and you have a wide selection of unique, generous wine flights. The owner will come to the table to make recommendations. The food is French-bistro style and always high-standard. The ambience is traditional and homey — not fancy. Tastings has many loyal, long-time customers. It also hosts the Charlottesville Wine Club on selected weeknights.
Wait staff was very friendly. The food was good and the wine was excellent.
Haven't been there in a while. Still excellent food and great wine selection
