Each piece of 'popcorn' was half a prawn and not very tasty. For mains we had to try the bag of prawns, so we ordered the garlic butter and Cajun flavoured. The garlic ones needed more salt and the Cajun were delicious. You definitely have to re-dip the prawns in the bag sauce once you've peeled them. Afterwards we decided we were still hungry so we ordered the tempura calamari and the truffle fries. We waited at least 30 minutes for these to come out and to get the attention of a waiter was nearly impossible. From what we could see there was only 2 waiters and a manager who had to help out as the place was quite full by that stage. When we finally got the waiters attention we told him we still had not received our food, he sounded like he had forgot to tell the kitchen which was very annoying and by that time we weren't even hungry anymore. They need to hire more waiters because it took us multiple attempts to get a waiters attention all night!! All in all, food was good but I probably won't be going back for a while.
We had a party of 10 pre-booked for my little cousin's birthday, which unfortunately ended up ruining our Friday night on December 2nd. We spent around 3 hours at the venue, with the waiter taking an hour after we ordered to inform us that there wasn't enough staff. This happened a second time when they ran out of crab as well. There were a lot of excuses given, and the drinks took at least 20 minutes to arrive, despite the restaurant being practically empty. We ended up spending over $900 total and traveled 2.5 hours each way. The food was not enjoyable, and there was no apology given for the poor service. I do not recommend this place, as the lack of crab and slow beverage service were huge disappointments.
We tried the Alaskan seafood pot with Cajun sauce and I really liked it. The dish included two crabs, prawns, potato, and corn, all coated in a delicious Cajun spice sauce. The service was good, and I would definitely come back. However, my husband, who is a fan of crabs, was not completely satisfied with his meal. We plan on returning to hopefully change his mind. They also make a great mojito at this restaurant.
My husband and I decided to try 'O Crab on Railway Street for dinner instead of our usual Asian restaurants in Chatswood. Despite being tucked away beneath a residential building on the northern end of the street, we were intrigued by the unique location. The restaurant had a minimalist decor and wooden floors, but we were excited to try something different. I ordered a margarita since there was no rosé on the wine list, while my husband chose a craft beer. We both enjoyed the seafood chowder, served in hollowed-out round loaves, although it was a bit light on the seafood. My husband had a crab burger, which was served oddly but he still enjoyed it. Despite a small delay in receiving our drinks, the waitress was apologetic and attentive. Overall, we had an enjoyable dinner and plan to return with our grandchildren during the holidays.
Ended up here due to the lure of craft beer. Misrepresented on a beer app, Now Tapped, showing it had taps. Discovered this before arriving.Odd location and odd decorating. Was a very quite Sunday night so the emotiness and vastness was very obvious. One main meal arrived while still having entree!! Second main a good 10 mins later! Why? Apparently one takes longer to cook than other!! Hmmm sequence the cookingCrab in bag was fabulous. Mallet useless. Steak was returned to kitchen.Great beer, nice staff, odd service.
