Feedback gevenWe were excited to try this place, but it was just ok. Worth trying once, I'd say though. Cons: staff wasn't very friendly and proportions weren't worth the price. I paid about $15 for only 3 stuffed shells. It looked like what you'd get off a kids menu. At 2 bites per shell.. that's over $2 per bite lol. While it was great, it wasn't THAT great. The food is excellent, but the woman who runs/owns the establishment is rude. I enjoy being treated with kindness and having good customer service when I eat out/patronize a business, so I’d rather support another Italian restaurant.
This small, independently owned restaurant is Top Tier for authentic Italian taste. We’ve driven past this building for years not knowing what an extensive menu we were missing out on. The salad was beautifully plated with perfectly chilled and crunchy Romaine, fresh shredded Mozzarella, onion, olives and a banana pepper served with house made crusty bread. The pizza was hot, fresh and delicious! The crust was thin, the sauce was fresh and it had just the right amount of cheese. The garden salad was crisp and fresh with homemade Italian dressing.
My family moved to Chattanooga from NY in May, and one of the things I’ve missed most was authentic NY style pizza. Portabello’s does not disappoint. I’m so happy to have found this place (my new go to for slices and full pizzas), and will be back often.
