I had the 3 eggs and pancakes which came out just as ordered and were served with a starter of fruit, sides of potatoes and ham. Our other meal was an omelet with just about everything in it. It was delicious. My only suggestion would be to get better chairs. The plastic chairs are just not comfortable. I would recommend Rico's for the food alone, it was very good.
Very good BLT with French fries, have had good breakfast here, also. Quick and friendly service. Very inexpensive.
I have visited Rico's for breakfast, lunch, and for some of their occasional dinner specials. My breakfast favourite is the Omelet. I have enjoyed their Kitchen Sink Omelet as well as a veggie Omelet. My lunch favourite is the chili dogs, however the fish snacks in a basket is very popular with my hubby. The handmade homemade icecream is a very special treat. The owners are good, honest and lovely people. The waitress is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is casual and colourful. This restaurant is enjoyed by Expats and local Mexicans alike... which is refreshing to see. Everyone is welcome and treated equally as they should be. There is even a high chair for young children (you don't see many restaurants around here with high chairs). The prices are very reasonable and the portions large. Yes, I will return many times. Yes, I will bring guests. Recommended.GPS = N 21 16.174 / W 89 44.352
Rico's is one of the expat restaurants in the little village of Chelem. A fairly new one but never the less has made themselves fit in very well.
Love the homemade Lemonade and Jamaica. They make great hamburgers and salads. I like the option of getting a salad instead of fries. The fish sandwich or fish in a basket is excellent with a lite batter. Finish off lunch with an ice cream sundae, YUM! If you go for breakfast the waffles are wonderful and my favorite the breakfast sandwich with ham.
