Costa Coffee - Chelmsford

The appetizers are decent and the drinks are only lukewarm. Unfortunately, the innocent smoothies are often lumpy and past their expiration date. However, my favorite item on the menu has to be the millionaire shortbreads. The bathrooms are well-maintained and also provide easy access to the staff room, which is a plus.

I often visit this Costa location and typically have a positive experience, especially since I started ordering through the app (which speeds up the process of getting my coffee). However, today was a letdown. I ordered my usual coffee and added a fruited teacake to my order. When I returned to my work desk and opened my order, I was disappointed to find a cold, untoasted, unbuttered teacake instead of the hot buttered one I had expected. To make matters worse, there was no knife or butter in the paper bag. I was really frustrated by this lack of attention to detail, especially considering the store wasn't even busy. Costa, you can do better than this!

If you're looking for a great cup of coffee, head to the Town Square where you'll find this cafe. The staff is very friendly and can serve you a delicious cup of coffee along with some other tasty treats.

One of the better Costas.. always clean, staff are good... but to much queueing to often. it's not unusual to queue for 25 minutes seemingly stationary, get served, then join another queue at the other end of the counter waiting for your drinks to be prepared. i will say, drinks are always done just how you want them though.

Good coffee and clean establishment during a rush. I would say the que was rather long. More staff??
