Bay Road Nursery - Cheltenham

Had brunch here today to catch up with friends,the food wasn't bad but we found the price a little bit expensive compared to other eateries that we have been too

The cafe has changed hands recently and is now called No 1 restaurant. They serve meals as well as cakes, rather than paninis etc. I had the pork with cherry sauce and vegetables, which was stunning and my friend had the salmon with vegetables and it was just perfect.It is a husband and wife team and he does the waiting side while she is the chef. He has obviously worked in quality establishments, judging by the skills and service. It was such a lovely lunch. Thank you.

A great little spot to rest up with good food surrounded by the nursery wares. parking can be a problem but a short walk is worth the effort.

The position in The garden centre is lovely especially on a nice day. The staff are friendly and helpful. The salads looked amazing and large and the kids fish and chips were good. However we had the two rosti dishes on the menu, I had the indulgent rosti and my husband the normal. His certainly was not worth the money comprising of the rosti, spinach, a tiny piece of pumpkin and sour cream on top. Mine was priced right however both of us thought that the rosti tasted and looked like a thick potatoe pancake. Both dishes lacked seasoning. Don't call it rosti if it isn't! They need to look at their chairs, tables and umbrellas, all need to be replaced at the table we sat at. It doesn't take much to hose down a brolly.

Had a breakfast catch up with friends recently at the Bay Road Nursery cafe. Great and healthy breakfast choices, great coffee and very friendly staff. Adjoined garden centre and nursery is well stocked and loved the huge variety of plants, pots and garden tools- equipment. Will visit again.
