The Old Thatch Inn - Cheriton Bishop

We had booked. the food lasted over an hour and a half to get out, and we were the only people in the pub! (if the note came when the food arrived, it was the most subdued, overpriced meal I had ever had. it was impossible for me to give him two stars. I think the waiter who also did not know what was a guiness and black was also cooking a real shame as the pub is beautiful. bad eating, bad service and bad management. would not recommend. I'd rather have run 20 miles and found somewhere decent.

Good pint of Guinness, nice food the chef obviously takes pride in their work, the car park is across the road and the beer garden is cozy and pretty

What can I say about this place. We wanted to try this pub for dinner whilst here on holiday, my son has coeliac so we emailed to check they could cater for him, to which they said yes they do gluton free buns for the burgers aswell as other options. We booked a table and stated one was gluton free. So when we got there and ordered,we ordered a burger gluton free) and asked them to double check the bun and if not sure not to do the bun. At first they said they didn't have any buns left then said they found one, but we over herd them talking about it saying they was not sure and to do a ciabatter bread which we know is not gluten free. They then came out with the packet for the one gluton free bun they had but it was 2 months out of date. They did not seem to understand how I'll it can make people with coeliac. And how often do they check the dates on the food for the one bun to be two months out of date

Really enjoyed my visit to The Old Thatch... Really friendly and efficient service, very attentive. Had a lovely meal and would definitely return if I'm in the area again!
