Feedback gevenThe service at this restaurant was incredible from the moment we walked in. The dining area was spotless and very clean, with fresh, crisp linens and a pleasant scent that highlighted their commitment to cleanliness. The staff were all extremely friendly and eager to assist in any way possible. Once we placed our order, the service was quick and efficient, and the food was delicious and flavorful. The lovely view of the garden added to the overall pleasant dining experience. The breakfast was just as impressive as dinner, and the staff were exceptionally lovely. I highly recommend The Lion without hesitation.
I don't like to give bad reviews, but to this occasion it could be useful feedback to an otherwise loved pub and restaurant. four of us visited the lion on the weekend of the bank with the view of the drinks in the courtyard. What makes the best of the beautiful weather, and perhaps a little later to eat. Unfortunately we discovered that the pub has made the bizarre decision to go cashless! we are all in our 30s and understand how our data, especially from banks, are passed on to third-party data companies that affect everything from the cost of insurance to hypotheken. in such a networked world, we would rather keep our free time expenditure private. After a drink we cut our afternoon in wendlebury and drove to the trigger pond in bucknell. I hope that the lion will rethink their cashless approach, because the summer will not be the same without them.
My friends and I, who have been friends for 50 years since school, dine regularly at The Lion. The restaurant is conveniently located in a central area with good parking options for those driving, and one of us even takes the train from Bicester Village. We enjoy The Lion because it is a cozy pub with delicious food and friendly staff. It's important to us to have a comfortable place to chat and enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere. A special shoutout to George, our server, who took great care of us when we visited last Saturday. The service was excellent, meeting all of our needs without being intrusive. We will definitely be back.
Visits the lion on the way to home from bicester, where they would recommend a table for us last minute, service excellent and eating was incredible in any case.
Mothering Sunday is always busy yes? So you would think everywhere would be geared up for this, especially for a table booked at 4pm when the main lunchtime rush would be tapering off. Not the case I am afraid, 2.5 hours for 2 mediocre, highly...priced courses. Starter portions were very small and I am sure these used to come with a side salad? Almost £20 for a burger which leaves a pool of grease on the plate and roast potatoes which could have done with another 20 minutes in the oven. Had to ask four times for some water and no more drinks were offered after the initial service. Many better places locally.
