Wing Wah - Cheshire East

I have been to this restaurant multiple times mainly for their curry sauce. I have tried it with rice, rice and chips, and with king prawn curry served with both rice and chips. It is always delicious and possibly the best in the area. The spring rolls are exceptionally large (not the typical mini ones) and they are homemade and delightful. The owner is entertaining and knows her customers well, as they have been coming here for years. The prices are very reasonable and all the food is freshly cooked. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The title of this review encapsulates it all. This restaurant is in desperate need of a complete renovation and a visit from the Food Hygiene inspectors. The absence of a hygiene rating display is a clear indication of what to expect. During my last visit, we ordered a rice dish that, upon opening, emitted a foul odor. I am usually not picky when it comes to food, especially late-night Chinese, but this smell was so overpowering that I couldn't even consider eating it. It's a shame that this place may not be fit to remain in business, especially because Lucy, who greets customers at the front of the shop, is one of the most charming and beloved figures in the area.

I ordered takeout from this restaurant the night before leaving for vacation. I'm thankful I didn't eat the prawns because they had a bad smell and I was afraid I would get sick. The woman working there was quirky but friendly. She assured us that we would experience the best food since it was our first time trying it, but she was mistaken. I do not plan on going back.

Food is average to good and reasonably priced. The owner is a real character, always fun to visit, be prepared for lengthy chats and life stories, an eccentric and charming experience that is missing from a lot of establishments.

The mixed curry, salt pepper chips, crispy seaweed and fillet steak stir fry were beautiful quickly to delivered to the hotel where we were staying red hot and extremely tasty will definitely try here again for a take away.
