Grace Tea Room

We had a lovely breakfast here in a very pleasant room. The food was good, great black pudding and a nice ambience. The boss, or our server was really friendly and giving us plenty of information about the area.

We hired the crockery for an afternoon tea from Grace's tea room and it was fantastic! Everything was easy, all was ready for us when we collected it and we ended up ordering a cake too because they all look so delicious! We are usual customers in there and love it every time!

I ordered an afternoon tea for my hubbie at the last minute and was really impressed they were able to squeeze another one in for delivery given it was a coronation weekend . There was lots to choose from and the quality was excellent . Hubbie couldn’t eat it all as there was so much . I also ordered vegan cakes for my son who said they were delicious and he is hard to please . We will definitely order again

My wife and I took the bus from Chester to Ellesmere Port to visit the Waterways Museum. The town is looking a little tired and after 35 minutes on the bus we wre too. So it was a very pleasant surprise to come across Grace Tea Room on the walk down to the museum. Why a surprise? Well, at first glance the window full of vintage china appeared rather more like a bric a brac shop than a cafe. (Sorry, I cana't do accents on this site) Stepping inside is like entering someone's front room. A cosy tea room with a family feel to it. A variety of cakes all home made were too tempting to ignore and we had a Bakewell and a scone with our tea. What is not on the menu is the welcome. The owner's ever growing collection of vintage bone china was employed to serve our tea and cakes. And doesn't tea taste better in a china cup than in an earthenware mug or, worse still, a cardboard one? The arrival of a regular customer prolonged our tea break as we all joined in conversation which did not touch on politics or religeon but did include steam engines and canals. Don't pass this gem. It's such a refreshing stop.
