Feedback gevenThe dessert bar has a wonderful variety of desserts, crepes, icecream and great coffee or cold drinks. The variety makes it worthwhile coming back to. The challenge is the staff managing the orders on the cash register. On two occassions now the frustration of customers and serving staff has been due to the cashier wandering off, not understanding the order and asking for orders in broken english. After three attempts to get icecream and a coffee order correct, delays in service as orders had to be corrected and a rather abrupt service attitude by the cashier- I think this will be our last visit having given the benefit of the doubt to the cafe as maybe having a bad day. Certainly we were not alone in our view given comments from other customers.
Situated in the entertainment complex in Moore Park, Dolcetto is very well located for those visiting the football stadiums, Fox Studios and the entertainment complex. It's convenient for a meal after a game at the Sydney Cricket Ground or the Football Stadium. One bonus is that if you get your parking ticket stamped when you pay it reduces the parking fee by more than 50%.The food is good and the fish and chips tasty. Other dishes are a bit of a disappointment but the prices are reasonable for what you get. It's a pity about the service, though. The management either doesn't have enough staff for the busy occasions or they are just not well organised.
Myself and my husband ended up here for dinner before heading to a show at the nearby Comedy Store. We had not been to the Entertainment Quarter before. To be fair, there was a football game on at the Stadium which dramatically increased the crowd in the entire complex. On the whole, our dinner here was very disappointing.Service was very slow. Guests have to seat themselves whenever a free table pops up, which is ok, but you then have to get up and go outside again to place an order in a disorganised queue at a window located in a pedestrian thoroughfare which was likely more crowded than usual due to the fact it was cold and raining. We were unable to see a menu at our table, with several waitstaff saying they would bring them to us, only to be told several minutes later that in fact they didn't have any.The food was acceptable, but certainly not remarkable, and was definitely overpriced. Given the completely haphazard level of service and the fact that it seems to operate more like a bistro in some ways, I think overall the value is poor.
Well being 10.30 in the morning I am not reviewing Dolcetto Dessert Bar for its desserts, but I wish I was.
If you're looking for coffee in the Entertainment Quarter, head for the dessert bar.
