The Church Mouse - Chester Le Street

It was okay, just okay, not what I'd expect to eat. more like what I have for myself as a fast meal. not very good.

The food was excellent, but service was slow. We were there for 2 hours and we only had 2 courses. In the end we left without having the coffee we’d ordered.

Lovely atmosphere, warm and cosy. However there was a long delay from ordering the food to it being served. The waitress did inform us before we ordered that there was about a 30 minute delay but in fact it was a 50 minute delay. Also when the food did arrive my food was only luke warm. Perhaps they should not have accepted a table reservation if they can’t get the food out 8n a timely manner. However on a positive Staff were welcoming and attentive
