Blue Door Farm Stand - Chicago

Lovely place, open and welcoming, with great staff. Unfortunately, the food was well below average. The egg/avocado benedict dish was a collection of ingredients sitting on a sea of arugula, rather than a carefully crafted dish.

We chose this spot for a birthday celebration amongst friends. Our server was outstanding and our food was tasty. One hostess was lovely and one was down right rude. Since we celebrated a birthday at our table, we asked the nice hostess to throw away some wrapping paper, which she kindly did. A small box was left on our table that the rude hostess asked me to throw away. She refused to take it and told our group it was not her job to take our trash out. We asked for her name which she refused to give and then we asked for the manager who just listened to what happened without apologizing. We were disappointed that our outing ended this way. It was unnecessary and took away from the wonderful service our server gave us. Lastly the upholstery on the chairs needs to be cleaned. Overall not sure if this was a very off day or if this is what Blue Door wants to put out into the world.

I stopped by on a weeknight and was immediately seated and then friendly greeted by Mike K who explained the menu very helpfully. We then both ordered the same thing, the burger from a very polite and helpful server named Denise. I also ordered the lentil soup as a starter The lentil soup was delicious! We then received the burgers and fries. The fries were crispy and the burger was cooked perfectly and had a good, fresh, healthy flavor. I didn't like the ketchup it came with but then was provided with a spicy aioli dip that was fantastic! We then finished with the key lime pie, which is delicious. This was a great experience!

Fantastic ambiance, service, and delicious food! Clay was a FANTASTIC server and Mike was a gracious host. 10/10 coming back for more, and recommend you do, too!

Food was terrible, not tasty at all.I had to sent back my food because my salad had something that tasted like i was eating sand. Tomato soup was pale orange and looked very unappetizing. The veggie burger was dry and tasteless.
