During my first visit to the restaurant, I was unaware that they only accepted cash. I went with my 11-year-old niece and explained to the woman working that we would find an ATM and return quickly. I asked if she could set our items aside for us. To my surprise, she insisted that we take the items and come back later that day to pay. It was incredibly trusting of her and added a delightful, neighborhood vibe to the experience. I truly appreciated her gesture! I made sure to return later that day to settle the bill.
I love it here! It's a quiet place with friendly people—perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and relaxing.
Walked in thinking this was going to be a nice bakery with some bagels and such. Nope, it's a run of the mill Spanish bakery with VERY few options. Had to walk right back out. There are several really good Spanish bakeries in Albany Park, this didn't look like one of them, and even more of a knock for misleading business name.
Why is this wonderful local gem not on Maps? As your Local Guide, I'm telling you: It's cheap, great, and you must visit there to try delicious Guatemalan pastries and coffee!
