Habana Libre - Chicago

The restaurant is indeed on the expensive side, as many have mentioned. However, the lunch specials are quite reasonable, with most options priced under $9. I particularly enjoyed the empanadas; they had a wonderfully buttery crust and were filled with well-seasoned ingredients. While I found the Cuban sandwich to be underwhelming, I did appreciate the crispy texture of the bread. I plan to return, but next time I'll likely opt for some of the main dishes instead of the sandwiches.

The food was outstanding, and considering the location, I found the prices to be very reasonable. I tried fried yucca for the first time, and it turned out to be an amazing alternative to fries. I highly recommend the Cubano sandwich paired with an iced coffee!

This restaurant offers delicious empanadas. I also sampled the papa rellena and the ropa vieja sandwich, both of which were packed with flavor. I saved the best for last: a delightful guava and cheese empanada.

It's brightly decorated, almost like if you were outside. It's also brightly lit. It was empty except a group of four people when I visited. Lots of choices, not being super hungry I went for empanadas and yucca fries. Chicken empanadas were great, the cheese and guava one was weird which I knew but still wanted to try. The yucca fries, meh. My friend said her steak was really good. No drinks though so that's a bummer.

Excellent Cuban food. The best cafe con leche ever.
