Hot Woks Cool Sushi - Chicago

The sushi was quite disappointing. Most of the roll was just rice, with minimal shrimp inside and hardly any eel on top—mostly avocado for $15. The flavor was also quite bland; it didn't taste fresh at all. On the positive side, the service was good—fast and friendly.

This sushi restaurant is quite impressive. The staff is very friendly, and the dining area—both indoors and outdoors—is spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of options on the menu. While it is somewhat pricey, that’s understandable given its location on Roscoe St. For those looking for a better value, all-you-can-eat sushi might be the way to go, but for a sit-down dining experience, this place really delivers.

The server was extremely friendly, but the person behind the counter didn't seem to be in the best mood. I tried two sushi rolls—the spicy shrimp and the Philly—and both were good. The quality was standard; nothing exceptional, but it was enjoyable overall.

Excellent food, though the sushi lagged our kids' more conventional dishes. Loved the mai tai served in a big glass shaped like an ancient Hawaiian God. Outdoor seating on a beautiful summer evening was perfect.

Fantastic neighborhood spot! The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is really inviting, even on a Sunday night. Food rating: 5/5.
