Food: Ordered the Agnolotti which is cheese and spinach stuffed shells in tomato-basil sauce. I liked the shells and sauce separately but didn't feel as though they complimented each other. The creaminess contrasted with the acidity in the tomato sauce. I'd consider ordering it again but with exception of changing the sauce to a creamy garlic Parmesan instead. On a positive though, I did finish the whole dish and it didn't feel heavy or bloating on the stomach afterwards. The desserts did not fail. My friend ordered the creme brulee and I ordered the tiramisu. The tiramisu was very fluffy and creamy, very little espresso or lady fingers in it. I didn't mind it. The creme brulee was noted to be very sweet, but the burnt sugar on top wasn't as desirable. Presentation of everything was pleasing. Service: We had a young male waiter who was friendly enough but wasn't well-versed in the menu. He had recommendations when inquired about it, but nothing too detailed of a reference. He didn't leave me convinced of wanting to order anything in particular. But that's just me being nit-picky. A lot of the servers were young men. Atmosphere: Incredibly cozy, Italian vibes. Truly feels like you're wrapped around in a little village. I'd return simply for the atmosphere. Beautiful paintings and decor cover the walls with detailed brick and lights strung from the ceiling. My only complaint is the dim lighting for photos.
Great food and great service! We will definitely be back!
My daughters and I enjoyed our dinner so much! We ordered Veal Parmesan, and Salmon with Capers... Both were fabulous and also the soup and salad were perfect.. We haven't been here in a couple years and we're hoping it was still good..It was
You can't go wrong with this Chicago icon. Busy, lively dining room designed to look like it's namesake (Italian Village) including fun twinkling lights. Experienced wait staff and wonderful food. Perfect for pre-theater dining. We do miss Vince, the incredibly popular bartender, and hope he's enjoying retirement. Choose one of your favorite Italian dishes or try something new--you won't be disappointed
