Q-BBQ is a nice food addition to the area. The 4 bbq sauces are all delicious: sweet, spicy, mustard, vinegar. I like that you order at the counter whether you're staying for dine in or doing carry out. I'm picky about cornbread, and it's better than most places. Prices are reasonable. $10 for a sandwich, a side, and 2 q-pups.
Went for brunch, which is a new thing for Q BBQ. According to my boyfriend, the **** marys were a waste being about $9/per and the mix wasn't what he expected (one of the mixes was clogged as well). THAT BEING SAID I got some pork tacos that were phenomenal. The fries that came with them had parmesan, garlic and chives and I'm still dreaming about them. So I would definitely go back, if even just for those, since it's just down the block from me.
My go-to BBQ place has always been SMOQUE on Pulaski, but I wanted to see if there were other places in town worth trying.. Most of the places such as Barn/Co, Wriggleyville BBQ, Smokin Woody's were misses, and Bub City.. its too loud for my taste Q is a great place for that reason! The people serving/cooking your food understand what food should taste like, and they will help you pair the right sauces with the right meats. HIGHLY recommend the chicken wings, Brisket (sliced), and/or the ribs... dont forget the mac/cheese and a side of slaw!
Walked by here for on the way home and there was a nice lady saying 'free food! ' with a smile on her face. I thought, why not check it out? Got two orders of wings, with fries and boy were they good! Had a nice sweet yet salty flavor. The spicy wings weren 't really that spicy, but I like my food hotter than most. Will be back again, but this time I guess I 'll pay for it.
