Qdoba Mexican Grill - Chicago

Wow... I'm... Shocked. Having spent $9.15 for this burrito as well as $8.45 for an identical one with it (before tax and tip), I'm sure you can understand my overwhelming disappointment at receiving these... things. I've eaten at many Qdobas, in many states in fact, and have never been as shocked and disappointed as I am at this one. If I worked at a company that charged nearly $10 for a burrito, and then gave the customer these seemingly halves of a burrito, I would be incredibly embarrassed. That's what you get here. For nearly $10. You get a 4 burrito. Wow.

Food is always good and fresh. It was a little weird watching 4 staff prepping in the back ground while the new guy ran the counter by himself. But it was a little slow so I get it. I'd still recommend it overall.

I am a huge Qdoba fan and it is one of the restaurants I still visit, even with the increased prices. Today though I was disappointed because the burrito bowl I got and was charged $16.07 for was pretty small and wasn't made correctly either. I think a new person was working the line because I could hardly hear him he was speaking so low and then ended up not putting in the ingredients that I had wanted. They rang me up for a customized bowl with extra steak because I had added salsa and sour cream on the surf and turf bowl but the worker put it separately instead of on my meal, so hence the extra cost I guess? The bowl was so tiny and being so expensive was ridiculous. I know hiring people is difficult right now but I just wish they could get some good employees because this is the best place to get real quality food.

The slowest service I have had anywhere in a very long time. Finally.. when they decided to make my bowl, the server made my bowl super skimpy and barely put anything in it which took him 5 seconds so im not entirely sure what took them 10 minutes to get to me at the front of the line. I guess probably they were more so focused on to go orders? I will absolutely never return to this location.

Food is great, but the past several times I've gone the food portions have been greatly reduced than previously. Now I have to constantly ask for more of the portion. Just now I've got charged twice as much simply for trying to get the same amount of steak that I was given before. I tried explaining to the cashier that I asked for more because the new staff member was only giving me a few pieces, but I in no way expected to get charged double steak. I don't think I'll be returning. It sucks cause the food is good, but I can't spend $14 on $7 worth of food every time I go. UPDATE from 2 stars: Don't know if there were enough complaints or something, but some changes HAVE been made in the right direction. Gave the perfect amount, so cordial today, and just a wonderful environment with good food. Whoever was working at 7pm on August 20th you all deserve a raise.
