Racine Bakery - Chicago

What a wonderful find! The bakery has a fantastic selection of coffee cakes in eight to ten different flavors, all at an incredible price of just $5 for these sizable treats. I bought one with cheese but, unfortunately, gave it to a family member before I could try it myself, which left me a bit disappointed. It looked delicious! On the other side, there's a delicatessen that is simple yet offers very reasonable prices and well-prepared food. I ordered a ham and Swiss sandwich on Polish rye bread, and it was made with great attention to detail, featuring two thick layers of ham, cheese in between, lettuce, tomato, and a pickle. It was delightful. Overall, this place is a little neighborhood gem. I’ll definitely return to sample the coffee cake!

Is it possible to go wrong with bacon buns? I don't think so! They've consistently been outstanding. The kolacky, paczki, and rye bread are fantastic as well.

Treat yourself and take a ride to the Racine Bakery. They have a steam table with potato pancakes, roasted chicken, sausage, all kinds of things ! Then you have the different breads and cakes, cookies, European candy and chocolates. If you go in there,you'll go home happy.

A late Saturday morning visit to Racine Bakery was a delight to my visual and sensory systems. Well stocked with goodies in the bakery and deli areas. I found my ethnic roots screaming in front of my eyes and my stomach! I left with my purchases wellwrapped with the promise of deliciousness when I returned home. That promise was fulfilled with the best melt-in-the-mouthKolacky I've had in a long time. The liver sausage on fresh Lithuanian Rye was out of this world. I look forward to dinnerlater with their sauerkraut soup and kugelis! Racine Bakery has a good sized, ample parking lot on the side that is shared onone end with another business. Prices are very reasonable. A heads-up: to get assistance in the deli, the quick moving linestarts along the cheese case. No numbers to take here!

I've been a loyal customer of this bakery for over 15 years and have always loved it. Every year for my birthday, I would order the atomic cake, which features yellow and chocolate cake with banana and strawberry filling. It never let me down—until this week. I ordered my usual, but the writing on the cake looked like it was done by a child. There was barely any filling, just yellow cake with no chocolate, and the strawberries on top slid off. It was a complete disaster. I took the cake to the big party we had planned, and when I saw the cake, I was disheartened to notice that none of the guests even finished a small slice. Honestly, I've had enough of this bakery. It's sad, but this was a major disappointment.
