Simi's - Chicago

Google maps is wrong with location.....it is called Smilin Jim's on Western Ave. Neighborhood bar where friends and just about anyone can join in and jam .Just plain fun .They do have a pool table.

Food seems authentic so come with an open mind. We had the goat beef fish with the jollof rice. Then the mashed carb bread that's almost like mashed potato which my kid enjoyed with the spicy spinach. The moi moi bean cake is definitely different from anything I've tasted before. They serve bottled water so bring a water bottle if you can.

Grubby grubby yum. Prices backwards. Hours even more so

I would recommend the Jollof rice, beef and Spinach or Plantains. Everyone was friendly, Attentive, and fast service. Can’t wait to go back again.

I wish I did a dine-in instead of take out from this restaurant. It was so refreshing to walk into an African restaurant and receive good, professional treatment. I loved how patient and helpful the server was with us. I ordered amala and ewedu and the price was worth it for the size of the food. Overall I will definitely visit this place again when I'm in Chicago. Would 8/10 recommend.
