A little while later Tim A. came to our table and introduced himself as our servercomplaining he wasn?t sure what happened to the other waiter. He was awesome! Very attentive and informative. For appetizers Ihad the corn bread and my sister had the spinach and artichoke dip. The cornbread was really good and moist. The dip was prettygood as well. For the main course I had the steak frites and my sister had the rotisserie chicken. Neither of us liked ourmeals. I personally wouldn?t go back because the food wasn?t too good but I appreciate Tim?s service.
Everything started off great until our waiter had more tables than she could handle and forgot about us. Tables that came in after us placed entree orders and had their food before us. Food was good! Shrimp was spicy ???? and cornbread was ????. Myentree of the rotisserie chicken and mash came out COLD. Returned and came back much better. Salmon was good and even triedtheir in-house made flavored beer ????????
The Perch has lovely outdoor seating. We were in the beer garden. We saw lots of cute dogs, so I assume dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating areas. The food was very good, we had the shrimp, spinach dip, brussel sprout salad, and steak frites. But aboveall, I was really impressed with the service. The waitress was very helpful with selecting drinks and when we had an issue withour food, it was resolved and recooked immediately. I was really pleased with the speed we got our food for how good it was. This is the perfect spot to visit for some relaxing, casual dining. Edit: The issue we had with our food was that there was alittle strip of plastic in the steak. The steak was very kindly and quickly replaced but we took it to-go. When we heated it upat home, we discovered there was another piece of plastic. Not sure where this plastic is possibly coming from or how it was inthe steak both times. The food itself was good and again, the service was top notch. But I'm a little concerned about where thestrips of plastic are coming from. (Looking back, you can kind of see it in my photo of the steak, near the bottom right on topof the meat and under the sauce)
Went on a Sunday with about 15 people. It was pretty busy so the kitchen was probably slammed. We also ordered a lot of food. About half of our food arrived cold, we had to send 2 dishes back because it was wrong. My friends had raved about the slidersso we ordered 4 orders of it. It was VERY well done. The shrimp was really good. I liked the blueberry cornbread too. I did notlike what I had, which was the brisket hash.
I?ve heard great reviews about this place and it didn?t disappoint. My husband and I were lucky to snag patio seats on a 70+ day in Chicago. The vibe is super cool outside and even better inside. Drinks: they made my husband a mock tail mojito, which heenjoyed. I had a **** Mary that had a beer chaser. It was thick and spicy. I liked the beer back. Starters: we had 4 lobsterdeviled eggs. I love that our waiter asked if we wanted to add a 4th egg since it only came with 3. They were messy, but verytasty. I love the sweetness of the lobster paired with the sharp taste of mustard. The cheese curds were huge! I love that theyfried the giardiniera. You needed something pickled to cut the fat of the fried curds. Main: we split the tuna salad. The ahiwas perfectly cooked. I loved the ginger dressing with hints of mango and avocado in the salad. The pickled ginger was greattoo. Overall, this place is awesome and we would definitely be back!
