Midhurst really benefits from having this small restaurant on the High Street, where I have always received a friendly welcome. The food is outstanding, especially the Tartiflette, but the salmon quiche is also exceptional. It offers a true taste of France and is exactly what we need in the aftermath of Brexit.

The manager at this French restaurant is extremely rude. Despite being a regular customer and living in Midhurst, I received poor service on 8 July when I was served a half cup of cold coffee instead of a café crème by a new assistant. When I complained, the manager did not listen and was unapologetic. He even gave me attitude when I expressed my dissatisfaction. It is clear that he has a problem keeping staff, as two French-speaking friends who worked for him left due to his difficult behavior. I also heard from friends in Haslemere that he had a reputation for not paying his bills. His rude and aggressive attitude on 8 July was completely unnecessary, and all he had to do was apologize and make me a fresh, hot café crème. I will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend it to others.
