Upper Crust Bakery Eatery - Chico

As a city dweller looking to indulge in some sweet pastries, I would have greatly appreciated some signage in the café to guide us through the ordering process. We stood in front of the bakery case, waiting for our turn to order, until a staff member at the counter told us she could assist. However, she seemed confused when we mentioned we hadn't yet picked out our pastries, instructing us to go to the back of the line to make our selections. The entire process was a bit disorienting and could have been improved with clearer directions or helpful employees to explain the process to newcomers. The macarons were tasty, but the other pastries were average. The "mocha freeze" drink tasted more like a regular coffee than a mocha. Overall, the dining experience was decent, but nothing remarkable.

This restaurant is the best for baked goods and sandwiches! I deducted a star because I requested a latte with my meal and was told they don't make special drinks during busy times. They also seemed to struggle with having decaf coffee available during their busy hours. The food was delicious, but it's surprising that other places can manage both food and special drinks without an issue. Just a heads up if you're planning to go for lunch and want a special drink.

Awesome baby shower cake. Had to order from another city. Was hard to describe what I wanted over the phone. They completely knocked it out of the park. Just from an over the phone order. Extremely impressed. Adorable cake. And delicious too.

We used upper crust for our wedding cake everything was smooth and beautiful our cake was a semi naked cake with strawberry cheesecake filling . Our wedding date was 10/02/21 They were instructed to bring it at 3 our wedding was at 4 well when they showed up she had it in the back of a rav 4 which I assumed paying a 100$ delivery fee it would be in a actual bakery truck but okay well when she got there she told my wedding planner that the cake was melting . The cake didn’t even make it to 5 pm (delivered at 3) and the back side totally melted and fell apart. It was a disaster sad I paid $600 for a terrible cake when I reached out to upper crust they said someone would contact me and nobody ever did. I don’t recommend this bakery to anyone at all.
