Although it has bed linen tablecloths and napkins, an expensive menu and wine list and a waiting staff in sharp white jackets. But we sat on the outdoor terrace where it was loud, both from road traffic and activity, as well as the music system that played the restaurant over. The constant jockey of cars from incoming patrons and the Valet staff only passed feet from our exclusive dining table. The service was quite slow as we were there, although there were often many waiters to do nothing. The food was quite good, but the meal for four people including wine and la carte salads and steaks was good over 4000 pesos (including lace). This means about $230.00 US dollars for the meal, which is a hepper of an invoice from any 's standards in Mexico! An average meal in a nice restaurant with everything included (drinks, food and drink) in this area of Mexico usually runs around 1500 pesos for a group of 4 people. La Recova serves good food, but is NOT worth what they charge. This location is open only during the summer holidays of June August, I believe, and is a satellite operation for the company I think is in Merida. If you are looking for fine food in this area, and cost is a factor for you, avoid this resaurant.
We were referred to this restaurant by friends who are locals. They said it was one of the best places in the area to eat a nice meal. The food was very good, but.... the service was extremely slow, and the prices are too expensive. The steak was probably one of the best I have eaten in Mexico over the past 20 years, a fillet mignon perfectly boiled. But the dinner tab for 4 people, including tip was over 4000 pesos, or about $230.00 U.S. In Mexico, this is annoying! There are many nice dinner spots with outdoor seats, bedding tablecloths and napkins, and menus with good variety in the area that do not calculate this type of prices. I will not return to La Recova soon, based on the prices they charge.

We had been told by several local people that this restaurant was one of the finest in town. True, it has linen tablecloths and napkins, an expensive menu and wine list, and a wait staff in crisp, white jackets. However, we were seated on the...More
