The Crown - Chiltern

It is closed, no longer a Pub, in process of trying to be a nursery. The locals are trying to stop this as it is one of the last oldest Pubs in the area. What a shame

Went for a family Sunday roast, starters of prawns in a ginger sauce and the soup very tasty. Three of us had roast beef with roast potatoes, veg and a huge Yorkshire pudding, our son had pork belly which he said was very tender. The portions very large but we still managed a pudding. Pleasant cosy pub, the land lady very friendly, and great service from a young lady who was also chatty and friendly.

Lovely cosy pub with good beer selection. Have visited her a couple of times since moving into the local area, had lunch one week day and sat outside in the sun , pleasant quiet surroundings, good service, food ok.. 2nd visit was for sunday lunch which was disappointing, I had the roast beef and the portion of beef was 2 very thin slices and the vegetables not very generous either. 2 of our group had a pasta dish, neither of them ate it all as disappointing. Lovely venue though, friendly service, I do hope they csn improve the food as would like to go back.

Went for a family meal,the food was amazing I had the vegetable tagliatelle which was fab,my partner had the steak and kidney pie which was so tender and succulent the pastry was perfect,my daughter had the pork belly which was perfectly seasoned the crackling was crisp,also my son had the homemade burger which was served with its fresh chutney with mustard mayo,the best was yet to come as we all had the chefs own made chocolate fondant for desert,definitely be going back as the hosts sam and nigel were absolutely amazing very friendly and welcoming,such a homely restaurant/pub 5* service

Went for a walk round Ley Hill from the book Pub Walks in the Chilterns. The walk finished outside the Swan Pub so we decided to have a meal there What a great experience. The decor is very tasteful , tables nicely spread out , Sam was very helpful and most important, the food was delicious . Will be back. Thank you. Lynn
